Small Business Saturday
ORB is proud to be a small business enterprise, serving our local community of Lakeland. While we may have projects far away, Lakeland holds a special place in our heart. As a small business, we understand the value of supporting other local companies. We value our hometown and want it to grow and expand the same as our company.
Since 2010, the Saturday after Thanksgiving has been dubbed Small Business Saturday. This holiday, originally developed by American Express, celebrates the small local business and encourages people to shop local for the holidays. Many small businesses have sales and special promotions to celebrate the day. This year, we encourage everyone to go out and shop local.
As a small business ourselves, we know how hard it can be to compete with the larger companies. Many small retailers cannot afford the deep price gouges that larger companies offer. Instead, companies can offer an experience. Some businesses invite a local celebrity of official for a meet and greet while customers shop. Some towns join forces and make a scavenger hunt out of the small businesses. Others encourage selfies or check-ins on social media to spread the word and grow their business.
There are many things companies can do to celebrate, but the biggest supporter is the customers. So this year, go out and shop local on Small Business Saturday. Keep ORB in mind for any local engineering you might need all year long as well.
More to come soon.
